This is one of the sickest things I've ever done. I did this all with an old  Alesis  drum machine a keyboard & an ancient E-MU ESI 4000 sampler. I rented a cello & sampled the hell out of it. The viola parts are all violin samples that I struggled to play but  they sound pretty  friggin good to me. I studied the Philips recording of this piece & reverse engineered it. I don't read music. It took some considerable effort but was well worth it.
